Fabulous, informative, healing book
. I only bought this book 6 months, I'm guessing. And I have read it 4 times. It's a very easy read. The information Robert Warner has written & published has truly helped me to further my healing...I wish so much that I had known what they were truly all about when I first set foot into the rehab... No longer do I feel like a defective, incurable, negative piece of crap... You are NOT POWERLESS. They will tell you that you are. Their book was written in 1936 and never updated. Would you allow a surgeon to operate on you, using a manual from 1935? 1935-powerless... 2014-empowered! -By Donita C Thompson
This is great book especially if you are stuck in a 12 step program by the courts or family members. He goes over the Legality of the 12 step program from a constitutional stand point. He reviews the whole 12 step (1920's) mentality from a modern stand point. And gives alternatives such as the smart program and rational recovery, the alternative programs to aa.- By Peter Horak
An excellent explanation of the 12 Steps of AA...
The book itself is an outstanding piece of work. The 12 steps are analyzed and dissected and the truth is exposed. Mr. Warner has done an excellent job of discussing the steps and explaining each step in conjunction with the book 12&12 of AA.... I do not see how anyone could not possibly see through the deception put forth by AA that the fellowship and the 12 steps are not about finding and serving God....Mr. Warner takes the reader through each of the 12 steps of AA and relates that single step to AA's Conference-approved 12&12. I have not read the 12&12 as of yet so it was a real eye opener for me to be taken through the steps with Mr. Warner's analysis, discussion and explanations....I highly recommend the book to anyone that has an interest in learning the truth about AA and its famous, Not religious, But spiritual, 12 steps....I commend and salute Mr. Warner not only for writing this book, but also for being one of the first to call AA on its unbridled religious indoctrination under the pretext of being a simple self support group- By Peter, Verified Amazon Purchaser.
Usually, when you read a book about AA and the 12 steps, the author finds it necessary... to claim that the 'steps' have worked for millions. They somehow seem to have the need to insist that they are not bashing AA....Mr. Warner does not need to qualify anything. He takes the reader step by step through the sneaky subterfuge forced on anyone who is unfortunate enough to end up 'in the rooms.' Step by step he reveals how members lie to newcomers and slowly warp their minds into believing the 'spiritual, not religious' lies. Step by step he reveals how they do it, why they do it, and exactly when in the 'steps' they pull all the big switcheroos.- By Laura Tompkins
